South Dakota VFW Baseball 8u - 17u https://www.sdvfwbaseball.com/

|
Originally established in 1959 as "Teener" Baseball for 16U teams. The league name was changed to VFW in 1992 which also was the first year that the 14U division was introduced.
In 2006 the 12U division was added to the State Tournament schedule and over the last 20 years younger age divisions have been included as well, today the current divisions are 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U & 17U. Once all schools have registered for the State Tournament teams are seperated into Class A and B based on school enrollment size.
**2025 is the first year that VFW has moved 16u to 17u. |

SD VFW Class A - June 8th Final Registration for State Tournaments

| 8u, 10u, 12u (2nd - 6th Grade typically but eligibility is based on Birth Year) |
| * Combines 2 years per team |
| * No Regular Season games scheduled for 8u, 10u, 12u |
| * Automatically Qualified for State Tournament July 11th 8u and 12u July 18th 10u |
| - Teams can play tournaments/round robins or town vs town on weekends during the season based on player availability |

| *Regular season games are scheduled during the week with regional teams and weekend games/tournaments scheduled based on player availability |

| The American Legion Baseball League was first proposed at an American Legion State Convention in Milbank, South Dakota, in 1925. 100 years later, American Legion Baseball continues to be one of the most successful and tradition-rich amateur athletic leagues. |
| An on-going project in Milbank will not only build a new baseball complex, but it will also build upon the legacy of Milbank and Legion Baseball and create a memorial that pays respect to the thousands of young men that have participated in the program since 1925 and host the Jr and Sr Legion State tournament this year to honor SD Legion Baseball's 100 year anniversary!! |

Created in 2016, South Dakota Class A Baseball is the sanctioning body for 9U through 16U in South Dakota's largest communities. Annually eight state tournaments are held, showcasing talent from across the state. Many organizations host their own local tournaments throughout the Spring and Summer. The 13U through 16U divisions feature weekday play, with teams playing weekend tournaments based on their own availability. |
